Gary L Eckert

Gary Eckert, 76, passed away on March 12, 2025 in Wichita, Kansas.

Gary was born on October 29, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri to Billy and Edith (Butler) Eckert.

Gary was a graduate of Newton High School. After graduation, he worked varied positions in many parts of the country in the food service industry. He was an avid motorcycle rider. He cherished his three wheeled Harley Davidson and was nicknamed "Blue Eyes" with fellow bikers.

He is survived by his siblings: Billy James (Mary) Eckert, Jr and Patricia Elaine (Ric) Snyder. His nephew Jason (Vanessa) Peters, Niece Tricia Peters and Grand Niece Josslyn. He was preceded in death by his parents: Billy and Edith Eckert.

A graveside committal service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Kansas.

A memorial has been established for the Salvation Army, Wichita City Command, Wichita Citadel Corp. Community Center, 1739 S. Elpyco, Wichita, Kansas 67218. All may be left in the care of Petersen Funeral Home.
