Geraldine Epp

Gerry Epp wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to so many passed away peacefully with her family by her side August 24, 2022, at Newton Medical Center.

Geraldine (Weyand) Epp was born 10/22/1956 in the McPherson hospital to Elmer Weyand and Erletta (Willems) Weyand. She was baptized in the Lutheran church in McPherson. She grew up in Newton attending South Breeze, Chisolm middle school and graduated from Newton High school in 1975. She had two sisters Shirley Esau and Marilyn Lubbers.

She married Vernon Epp January 17, 1976, in the Zion Lutheran Church Newton. Together they had 3 children; Christopher Epp of Wichita, KS., Stephanie (Epp) Fox of Hutto, Texas and Jolona (Epp) Smith of Yuma, Colorado.  6 grandchildren; Tyler & Austin Epp, Haley & Kayla Fox, Jordyn & Esther Smith.

She worked at Chisolm Middle School in food service for 27 years retiring in 2019. She loved children, camping anywhere but especially at Harvey Co. West Park, fishing, and all animals especially cats.

Gerry did not want a traditional funeral service. Instead, she wanted her friends and family to celebrate the life she had here with us and her new life with Christ. You are welcome to join her family September 17^th at the Harvey Co. West Park Community building from 1pm – 5 pm for fellowship and the celebration of her life.
