Graham R. Schmidt

Graham R. Schmidt 35, died Monday, December 15, 2014 in Rural Walton, Kansas.  He was born June 12, 1979 in Newton, Kansas to John and Kay (Kannapel) Schmidt.  He was a 1997 graduate of Newton High School. He earned an AA degree at Johnson County Community College and attended The University of Kansas.  Graham enjoyed computers and video games he also was a sports fan he especially enjoyed following KU sports and Kansas City Royals.  He found comfort with and enjoyed the house cats at his home.  Graham also enjoyed spending time with his loving family and nephews.

He is survived by his parents John and Kay Schmidt of Walton, Kansas; brother: Ian Schmidt and his wife Jasmine Titus of Shawnee, Kansas; sister: Alison and her husband Gilberto Flores of Kansas City, Kansas. He is also survived by two nephews Mateo and Marco Flores and was looking forward to meeting his unborn niece

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phil Schmidt and Pastor Rosie Jantz of Tabor Mennonite Church officiating. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday evening with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested the Local Chapter of NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
