Gregory (Greg) Lewis Hardeman died Thursday, March 27, 2025 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born February 21, 1948, in Leavenworth, Kansas, the only son of John L. Hardeman and Evelyn (Davidson) Hardeman. He spent his childhood in Merriam, KS and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School. He attended the vocational school at Kansas State College at Pittsburg, where he met his wife and lifelong love, Nancy Slagle. They were married on August 24, 1969 and spent 51 years together before Nancy’s death in 2020. Greg and Nancy had two children, Ron and Brian.

Greg worked in a variety of occupations over the years and enjoyed helping kids as a school bus driver before retiring. He was also a volunteer with the Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Greg was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, father John, and mother Evelyn. Survivors include his sons, Ron (Susan) of Wichita and Brian (Jayme) of Manhattan and two grandchildren.


A graveside service will be held 11:00am, Wednesday April 2, 2025 at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters.
