Helen Marie Tipton

Helen (Kirchmer) Tipton age 96, died Monday, March 13, 2017. She was born July 12, 1920 in Sedgwick, Kansas.

She was the daughter of Carl and Pearl (Butler) Kirchmer. She was the third of seven children. She
married Warren C. Tipton in Newton, Kansas June 13, 1939. Warren preceded her in death. Two sons
and one daughter, also, preceded her in death. Helen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and
St. Mary’s Altar Society. She was a homemaker and enjoyed making quilts and working with crafts.
Survivors include: one daughter, Barbara Youngs of Topeka, Kansas; one son, Michael Tipton of
Galva, Kansas; and one brother Donald Kirchmer of Sedgwick, Kansas. There are several
grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newton. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday Evening at Petersen Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 6:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends following Rosary.
