Herman F. “Swede” Osbourn

Herman F. “Swede” Osbourn 89, died Monday August 20, 2018 at Comfort Care Home in Newton.  He was born January 14, 1929 in Portales, NM to Homer and Edna (Grimm) Osbourn.  On September 1, 1991 he married JoAnn Reaves and she survives of the home.

Swede served his country in the U.S. Army and was a retired as a supervisor for the Santa Fe Railroad.

He enjoyed golf and was often on the local courses with his friends. Swede enjoyed traveling and has had many memorable cruises and times traveling around the country.

He will be remembered for his sense of humor and being funny.  He had a love of children and looked forward to spending time with his loving wife, children, and great grandchildren especially “Great Junior”

He is survived by his wife JoAnn of the home; Grandchildren Brooke and Eric and Great Grandchildren Josh, Bradley and Caleb.

Swede is preceded in death by his parents and two children Greg Osbourn and Vicky Sue Osbourn.

Graveside committal service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 23, 2018 at the Halstead City Cemetery with Pastor Denny Bell presiding.
