Jacey Jo Lopez entered Heaven's gates on March 28, 2023 in Wichita, Kansas. Jacey was born on March 25, 1986 in Newton, Kansas to Jennifer Scott-Lopez and Richard Lopez.
Jacey attended Peabody-Burns High School where she was involved in many activities such as basketball, volleyball, band, and the FFA. She graduated from Peabody-Burns in 2004. While in high school, she worked in Dietary at Peabody Health and Rehab in Peabody, Kansas, where she later earned her CNA and CMA. She continued her career as a CNA and a CMA alongside her long-time best friend and sister-in-law, Jesssica Peterson, at Peabody Health and Rehab and then at Asbury Park in Newton. When she was not at home with her children, she was fulfilling her passion of taking care of others. Jacey loved attending her children’s events, including basketball and football games. Nothing made her more proud than watching her children grow and succeed in the many things they accomplished. She loved spending time with friends and family and getting together to watch KU basketball games.
Survivors include her mother Jennifer Scott-Lopez, father Richard Lopez, significant other Chris Young, Co-Parents Chad Carr and Jason Raper, children Camden Carr, Calin Carr, Jaxon Raper and Emersyn Raper, brothers Joel (Desiree) Lopez, Jacob (Jessica) Lopez, Jared Lopez and Joseph (Bailey) Lopez, nieces Atlanta, Lexie, Brooklyn, Madison, nephews Braxden, Chayton and Gavin. Grandparents Sandra and Ray Knowles and grandfather Richard Lopez, Sr. also survive. Jacey was preceded in death by her grandparents, Esther and Ed Scott of Atchison, Kansas.
Jacey was a loving mother and wonderful friend to many. Her memory will live on through her children, family, and dear friends. She will be deeply missed. A visitation will be held on April 3 from 5-9 at Petersen Funeral Home 215 N Main St Newton, KS. The funeral will be held on April 4 at 10am at Newton Christian Church 210 Southport Dr, Newton, KS.
