James Allen Reimer, 70 of rural Canton, KS passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 after a brief illness.
He was born in Goessel, KS in 1954 to Richard and Evelyn (Barton) Reimer. He attended Goessel High School where he graduated in 1972. He then went on to graduate from Manhattan VoTech school for Mechanics, which turned in to be a life long passion and career. He spent many years on a friends dirt track racing pit crew and enjoyed restoring his Chevelle and Brown Ford F-150 Pickup.
He also spent his life hunting locally and was able to enjoy some extravagant hunting trips which included Deer, Elk, Bear and wild hogs. He shared his passion for fishing, hunting and firearms with his two kids and many life long friends! In 1994 he took over the family farm that was homesteaded in 1874. He lived on the family farm until his death, enjoying his horses, dogs and farm life.
James was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a son, Brandon Reimer, of rural Canton, a daughter, Saundra Reimer, of El Dorado, and a sister, Nancy Bauman of Victoria, TX. He’s also survived by his aunt Elsie (Orville) Unruh and numerous cousins on both sides of the family.
