Parks, Jewell (Julie) McFarlane – 92, was born September 4, 1921 in Hesston, KS.
Jewell passed away in Pinellas Park, FL on January 22, 2014. She retired from
Saks Fifth Avenue as a Fashion Coordinator in 1970 and moved to Clearwater, FL
(Sand Key) and later to Largo. Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Sam
Parks, Jr. (deceased since April 1997); her parents, Robert E. and Mary White
McFarlane; 5 sisters: Idell Welty Prouty, Roberta Rogers, Wilma King, Dorothy
Smith, Marion Byler; 3 brothers, Robert, Ross, and Richard McFarlane. She is
survived by her son, Robert MacGallaway; a granddaughter, Tara (Tim) Terrell;
and two great-grandsons, Cody and Trevor Terrell, of Cary, NC; and many
cherished nieces and nephews. Jewell’s hobby was golf and she belonged to
Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh, PA where she captained the Ladies Golf Team
in 1970. She also belonged to the Ladies Western Pennsylvania Golf Association
from 1954 through 1970. Florida arrangements by Hubbell Funeral Home, Belleair
Bluffs;  Memorial service will be 2:00
p.m., Friday, January 31, 2014 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with The
Reverend Jim Anderson Presiding.  Inurnment will follow in Hesston City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Chi Chi Rodrigues Academy for Jr. Golf
