Life Sketch for Jim Gervais

 

James “Jim” Lambert Gervais, 72, died on December 13, 2016 in Hesston, Kansas.

 

Jim was born on January 21, 1944 to Edward and Margaret (Ahrens) Gervais in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

 

Jim was a retired cement worker with Pre Stress Construction Company. He had also worked as a crane operator and night watchman with Hesston Corp.  Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.  He operated Jim’s Farmers Market in Wichita for many years. Jim had a keen sense of humor and was a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  In his final years he became a Christian and devoted his life to Christ.

 

He is survived by his wife: Verna Gervais; children: Fawn Florez, Irene Knauf, and Jeannie Gervais; brothers: Larry Gervais and Johnny Bond; sisters: Anne Bryant, Margaret Jarrett, and Mary Pratt and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and many “adopted” children.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Margaret Gervais; brother: Frank Gervais; and Step Daughter: Deborah Ann Honaker.

 

A public gathering will be held at Petersen Funeral Home on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The family will be there to greet friends during that time.
