Judy K. Janzen

October 1, 2021

Judith K. Janzen 80, died October 1, 2021 at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater, Kansas. She was born February 9, 1941 in Newton, Kansas to Paul and Blanche (Rosfeld) Regier.  On June 10, 1960 she married Robert Janzen and he preceded her in death on February 13, 2005.

Judy was a long time active member of the Grace Hill Mennonite Church.  She retired from Prairie View in Newton after 30 years where she worked as a continuing education coordinator.

Judy enjoyed her country home where she cared for many animals through the years and especially enjoyed her cats. She liked to spend time outside tending flowers and gardens and found great joy mowing her acreage.  Assembling and sewing quilts was also an enjoyable pastime, and she shared many of her quilting creations with her family and friends on special occasions.  Her greatest joy was her family and she looked forward to spending time with her loving family and friends.

She is survived by her son Michael and his wife Jodi Janzen; grandchildren Grant Janzen and his fiancé Olivia Eck and Madison (Jordan) Frederick.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Jeffery Janzen and sister Ruby Kurr.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 6. 2021 at Grace Hill Mennonite Church with Pastor Weldon Martens presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday October 5, 2021 at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Grace Hill Mennonite Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Grace Hill Mennonite Church in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
