Kathryn Ann Shultz (Klein) of Hoffman Estates Illinois) passed away peacefully on August 22, 2022, at the age of ninety-two.

She was born on February 11, 1930, in Hillsboro Kansas, the daughter of Dan and Justine (Wiens) Klein. She was the middle of three children, Robert Klein who has preceded her in death in 2011 and Beverly Wilson of San Marcos California.

Not long after graduating from Peabody High School in 1948, she met and married Vernon L. Shultz of Newton. Vernon preceded her in death in 2000. They were married for 49 years.
Their lives and careers took them to several different cities that they called home including Newton Kansas, Indianapolis Indiana, Knoxville Tennessee, Columbus Ohio, Albany New York, and their final stop in Dayton Ohio.

During their journey Kathryn and Vernon developed and maintained numerous lifelong friends.
During her later years Kathryn enjoyed being with family, water aerobics, playing cards and dominos and socializing with many great friends that brought her happiness as she navigated the twilight of her life.

She was preceded in death by her son Charles Allen Shultz, 2013 and daughter in law Kathy Shultz (Tom), 2015.

Kathryn is survived by sons, Tom and partner Christie Dwyer, Westfield Indiana; Ken and his wife Moira of Carol Stream Illinois and their sons Daniel (wife Lisa) of Elgin Illinois and Thomas of Schaumburg Illinois, John and his wife Suzy and their sons Jackson and Charlie of Port Barrington Illinois.

She is also survived by her sister Beverly Wilson, San Marcos California, and her daughter Jill Wilson and stepdaughters Michelle (Dave) Beddard, and Lorie (Tim) Schlesener). Bev’s husband Maurice Wilson and daughter Kelly Wilson McCoskey have preceded hear in death.

A brief graveside service will be held at St Mary’s Catholic cemetery in Newton Kansas at 10:00 a.m. on September 23, 2022.
