Kenneth Edward Prockish, “Kenny”, 83, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

 

Kenneth was born to Leo and Gertrude (Kraus) Prockish on January 31, 1934 in St. George, Kansas.

 

Kenneth married Jeanine Anderson on November 6, 1951 in Newton, Kansas.  They moved to Newton in 1952 and started a family and Kenneth’s career in aviation.  Kenneth worked in non-destructive testing for Beech Craft and Cessna for many years until his retirement. Kenneth and Jeanine were married for 65 years prior to his passing.

 

He loved traveling, the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and golfing.  Kenneth had two official hole in ones while playing golf. He loved his family and enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren.

 

He is survived by his wife: Jeanine; sons: Randall of Gilbert, Arizona, Darrell of Mesa, Arizona; daughters: Teresa Roberts of Newton, Sandra Adams of Goddard, and Sheryl Wiens of Wichita; three brothers: Eugene of Louisville, Kansas, Vernon of Westmoreland, Kansas and Delbert of Wamego, Kansas; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents: Leo and Gertrude Prockish; two sisters: Deloris Prockish and Marjorie Howard; and one grandson: Sean Wiens.

 

A public visitation will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 13th at Petersen Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 14, 2017 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton.  A graveside committal service will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
