Kenneth Lyle Spoonemore, Jr.

Kenneth Lyle Spoonemore, Jr. age 69, passed away July 1, 2018 at the V.A. Hospital in Topeka, Kansas after a long illness. Kenneth was born March 7, 1949 in Pierre, South Dakota the son of Kenneth Lyle and Priscilla Corinne (McCormick) Spoonemore, Sr. 

Kenneth joined the Army in 1966 and honorably served his country for 3 years, with one year served in Vietnam. He was known for his love of cars. Kenneth was an auto mechanic and spent many hours working on them, but he also enjoyed driving them. Kenneth was a member of the First Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his mother; Priscilla, sister Judith L. Stoddard, son; Scott Lyle Spoonemore, daughters Jamie L. Spoonemore, and Holly R. Spoonemore, as well as five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Kenneth, Sr., brother, George M. Spoonemore, sons Kelly Ray Spoonemore, Kenneth Lyle Spoonemore, III, and sisters Linda L. Cokely and Corinne Cecile Spoonemore. 

Visitation will be held Friday, July 6, 2018, 5-9 pm. with family present from 6:30-8:00 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Services with Military Honors will be Saturday, July 7, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Kansas. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Disabled American Veterans or the V.F.W. and may be sent in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
