Kenneth Meyer

October 17, 1949 — August 19, 2024

Kenneth LeRoy Meyer, a beloved husband, father, and dedicated handyman, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, in his hometown of Wichita, Kansas. Born on October 17, 1949, Kenny, as he was affectionately known, was a man of few words but with a heart of gold. Despite considering himself a lone wolf, he grew up as one of thirteen brothers and sisters.

After graduating from South High School, Kenneth pursued a career as a handyman, embracing every task with precision and dedication. His commitment to excellence and pride in his work resonated with all who knew him. In his spare time, Kenny enjoyed simple pleasures like riding his bicycle, playing bingo and cards, and indulging in classic Western movies.

Kenneth's compassion extended to all living creatures, as he had a soft spot for animals. He found joy in the smallest of things and chose to walk his own path in life, eschewing conformity for authenticity. Although he faced life's challenges with stoicism, his kindness and generosity shone brightly through his actions.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the funeral arrangements for Kenneth LeRoy Meyer. A public viewing will be held at Petersen Family Funeral Home on August 28, 2024, starting at 5:00 pm, to honor and remember his life. A traditional funeral service will take place at The Church of God of the Firstborn on August 29, 2024, at 2:00 pm, followed by a graveside service at Church of God of the Firstborn Cemetery, 4716 SW 24th Street, Newton, Kansas, where he will be laid to rest.

May Kenneth's legacy of kindness and individuality live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, Kenny, as you embark on your next journey.
