Kit Lee Taylor

Kit Lee Taylor, 69, died April 19, 2013, at her Newton residence.

She was born Feb. 5, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, to Elmer and Katherine (King) Becker. On Dec. 14, 1962, Kit married Paul J. Taylor, and he survives.

She was retired from the Toledo Hospital after 19 years of nursing. Kit enjoyed painting and ceramics. She also did needlepoint and cross stitch. Her family was very important to her, and she enjoyed spending time with them.

Kit is survived by her husband, Paul Taylor of Newton; daughter, Katherine DeMille of Newton; sons, Paul Taylor Jr. of Portsmouth and Troy Martz of Tipton, Mich.; brother, Robert Becker of Monclova, Ohio; sister, Dianne Sochacki of Sebring, Fla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Taylor; and grandson, Dennis Demille III.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, 215 North Main, Newton, KS 67114. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday evening at Petersen Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Newton.
