Kurt A. Wolfenberger, 67, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2024, at his Newton residence. He was born July 2,1956, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Ret. Col. Joseph H. and Mary E. (Biddick) Wolfenberger. On March 11, 1989, he married Terri Benorden in Hutchinson, Kansas.
He leaves behind his wife Terri; sons, Andrew Wolfenberger, Joseph Wolfenberger and William (Anna) Wolfenberger; daughters Lauren Wolfenberger and Hannah Wolfenberger; daughter-in-law Megan Wolfenberger; brothers Erick (Ruth) Wolfenberger, Karl (Heidi) Wolfenberger, and Paul Wolfenberger; sisters Brenda (Greg) Peterson and Greta (Michael) Kirk. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Holly, Kara, and Simeon. Kurt is preceded in death by his parents.
He was a hard working, devoted and loving husband, father and person who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery (the corner of Halstead Road and NW 12th in rural Harvey County), followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 3:30 p.m. at the Harvey County West Lake Community Building.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., April 11, at Petersen Family Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, Kansas with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
