Larry Buller, 88, died November 30, 2023, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, Kansas. Larry was born on August 16, 1935, to Henry and Susie (Pankratz) Buller.
Larry married Marietta Knoffloch on August 14, 1960, in Wichita, Kansas. Together they shared 63 years of marriage He was a man of faith and freely served the Lord as a longtime member of the First Missionary Church in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School and attended both Bethel College and Wichita State University, He served his country in the United States Army. He also served his community by serving on the ASC board, pleasant township board and served on the Walton Volunteer Fire Department Board.
Larry did not shy away from work. He worked at Builder’ Concrete in Newton; worked as a truck mechanic and ran his farm in Eastern Harvey County. He greatly enjoyed teaching his boys mechanics and the skills to run the farm, including welding and caring for cattle.
His greatest joy was his family and Larry looked forward to family time. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He rarely missed his kids’ activities as they grew up. Another joy in Larry’s life was time in Colorado with family and friends. As the family grew and added grandkids and great grandkids, Larry maintained a close relationship with them and freely shared his love and humor.
Larry is survived by: Wife-Marietta; Sons-Larry Buller; David (Julie) Buller and Daughter-Amy (Randy) Douvier. He is also survived by: Grandchildren-Ryan (Anna) Douvier; Bryce Douvier; Sandra (Kent) Funchess; Jamy (Ben) Unruh; Randall Douvier: Janell Douvier; Riley Buller; Sydney Buller; Kelsey (John) Wilks; Connor Buller; Six great grandchildren; and Brother-Orlan Buller; Brother-in-law-Orren (Celia) Knoffloch
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Petersen Family Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2023, First Missionary Church in Newton, Kansas. with Pastors Ray Adams, Ryan Adams and Dan Quinlin presiding. Interment will be at Greenwood cemetery following. Following the internment lunch will be provided at the church.
Memorial donations can be made out to First Missionary Church or Harry Hynes Hospice and left in care of Petersen Family Funeral Home.
