Larry Eugene Grochowsky, 63, died June 10, 2021 in Olathe, Kansas.

He was born October 13, 1957 in Newton, Kansas, the son of Bert and Jean (Kosminski) Grochowsky.
Larry was raised in Newton for most of his life and attended Newton High School graduating in 1975.  From childhood through his growing years made many lifelong friendships.
On May 5, 1979, Larry married Dela Jean Van Horn in Newton.  He was married for 42 beautiful years to his bride, Dela. After four years of marriage, they were blessed with their son, Nick.
In 2002, the family moved from Newton to Olathe.  Prior to moving, Larry and his family were active at St. Mary Catholic Church where at this time he served as a member of the Knights of Columbus and where his 30+ years of Perpetual Adoration began.  When the family moved to Olathe they were members at Prince of Peace Catholc Church where Larry continued his 30+ years of Perpetual Adoration as well as being a Eucharistic Minister.
Larry enjoyed spending time with his family. He took pride as an Inspector for the Johnson County Gateway Project. He had a special love for music and playing his guitar. His woodworking and many other home craft projects.
He will be remembered for his faithfulness in God & the Catholic Church.  He expected and admired honesty from everyone and from Himself. He will be remembered for his talents in smoked meats for family gatherings. His ability to laugh and fill the room with humor from his jokes and so many stories from his lifetime.
Larry is survived by his wife, Dela; and son Nick and two grandsons, Benjamin & Luke. Sister Terry Tyrell and many other family & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert & Jean Grochowsky & sister Shari Grant.
A rosary will be said at 1 pm on Tuesday, June 15th and Petersen Funeral Home with visitation to follow from 2 PM to 4 PM.  Funeral Mass will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, June 16th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Newton, Kansas, with burial to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
