Laurie “Jill” Dechant

Laurie “Jill” Dechant, 58, died March 21, 2021 in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born in Wichita, Kansas, on July 11, 1962, the daughter of Lonnie Sr. and Sandra (Bickel) Martin.

On January 8, 1999, Laurie married Michael Dechant in Wichita, they were married for 18 years at the time of his passing in 2017.

Laurie enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Laurie is survived by her sons, Jonathan (Angie) Harris and Jeremy Harris; daughters, Aubry (Ryan) Boyce, Angela (Ben) Sirmans, and Crystal Beougher; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother, Lonnie Ray Martin Jr,; and sister, Wendy Regier.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main, Newton, Kansas. The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Halstead City Cemetery.
