Leatha M. Bunker

Leatha M. Bunker 95, died Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Kansas Christian Home. She was born March 4, 1920 in Carmen, Oklahoma to Floyd S. and Leah B. (Garvin) Taylor. On April 23, 1939 she married Arthur M. Watkins Jr. and he preceded her in death in 1972, she later married Edwin R. Bunker on June 25, 1982 and he preceded her in death in 2005. Leatha loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. She also enjoyed dancing and was a excellent ballroom dancer. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she was good mom to her loving children. She greatly looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.

Leatha is survived by her son: Eugene and his wife Kathryn Watkins of Newton, KS; daughters: Lynda White and her husband Grover of Mulvane, KS and Diana Hopper and her husband Bob of Castlerock, CO. Step-Children: Larry Bunker and his wife Pat of California, Ellen Griffen and her husband Scott of Arkansas and Susan Schoenecker and her husband Dan of Shulte, KS She is also survived by grandchildren: Curtis Watkins, Kim Benningoff, Ron Watkins, Don Larson, Mark Larson, Tracie Horsch, and Kerrie Jackson, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, 3 brothers: Alvie, Ralph and Lester and 1 sister Ada. She is also preceded in death by 1 great grandchild.

Graveside committal service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at El Paso Cemetery in Derby, Kansas with Chaplain Denny Bell presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
