Lee “Pete” Laaser

August 9, 2022

Lee “Pete” Laaser was born in Kansas City, Kansas on April 18, 1957, to Norman and Thornton Laaser.

Pete is survived by his son, Tyler Laaser and wife Alison of Topeka, Kansas; daughters Selena Klumpy of Emporia, Kansas, Dakota Elvarez and husband Alex of Mankato, Kansas, and Meghan Overton of Blue Springs, Missouri; brother, Brett Laaser and wife June of Texas; and sister, Dawn and husband Jim of Arizona. Once Pete married Jan Stucky Laaser he gained four more children, Emma, Ethan, Elicia, and Andrew Stucky, they also survive along with six grandsons, and four granddaughters.

Pete will be remembered for his love of cooking, smoking meats and great Thanksgiving dinners. He always wanted others to enjoy his cooking. He had a passion for training his dogs and watching Kansas City Chiefs football games. Pete always took great pride in his work and abilities when working with concrete.

Pete’s abilities to tell jokes and make others laugh will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life is pending for October.

Memorial contributions in Pete’s name may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of Petersen funeral home, or flower arrangements may be sent to his home.

  1. May God be with you, Jan, and your family, to comfort you during this most difficult time. And to give you strength and peace for each new day ahead.
You will always remain in my thoughts and prayers. I Love You!

  2. I’ve known Pete since the 1980’s when we worked in the concrete industry. He was a good friend. Rest in peace, my friend…

  3. So sorry for you loss. I went to EHS and Church with Pete and his dad was our English teacher in Eureka. We had a lot of fun.

Prayers and sympathy to the family

  4. My family has known Pete for many years. As my mother got up in age Pete was very kind and would fix things around her house that needed it. Jan would come a long some times and visit with her. I really appreciate the kindness and time Pete took for my mother.
