LeeAnn Newell passed away on 4-4-22 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

She was born the 9th child of 14 to Vivian B. and William A. Sheffler in Newton, KS. She lived her whole life in Harvey County, KS.

She worked in the Newell Family Businesses in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. She also worked as a chef at other local restaurants.

The last year and a half LeeAnn lived with her sister Judy in Newton.

The light of her life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

LeeAnn is preceded in death by her parents, sons Stephen and Roger Newell, and by daughter Wanda Willems. She was also preceded in death by 11 siblings.

LeeAnn is survived by her sons Kerry Newell (Julie Vosberg) of Sisters, OR and Charlie Newell (Tawnia) of Park City, KS. She is also survived by grandchildren Josh (Kasey) Newell of Newton, KS, Carrie Greever of Park City, KS, Brandon Willems (Shelly Wilson) of Newton, KS, Elliott Newell (Danielle Rouse) of Galva, KS, Kalynn (Cesar) Rosas of Spanish Fort, AL, Elaina Newell of Wichita, KS and Bill (Teresa) Newell of Salem, OR. Also surviving are 7 great grandchildren.

We would like to thank Bethesda Home of Goessel for the wonderful care that LeeAnn received in her short stay there.

Funeral service will be at 10am, Thursday, April 14th, 2022, at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas. The visitation will held the prior evening from 5pm – 9pm, Wednesday, April 13th, 2022, at the funeral home and the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in LeeAnn’s name may be made to Bethesda Home of Goessel and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
