Lillian Joan Bush 77, died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. She was born December 20, 1938 in Newton, KaLillian Joan Bush 77, died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. She was born December 20, 1938 in Newton, Kansas to Byran Stephenson and Esther L. (Miller) Brown. Joan worked as a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita and also worked as a private nurse for Sandy Hall of the Hall Oil Company. Prior to her retirement Joan worked three years at the Eureka Hospital in Eureka, Kansas. She was a member of the Cassoday United Methodist Church, the Liberty Baptist church in Newton, KS and was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and friend to many. She was always quick with her smile and showed her love often. She will be greatly missed by all her knew her.

Joan is survived by her husband James “Jim” Bush of Newton, KS; daughter Cheryl Kassin Harris of Lenexa, KS; son Steven and his wife Cindy Kassin of Lenexa, KS; Step mother Lorene Brown of Dennison, TX; brothers Scott Brown of San Antonio, TX and Stephen Brown of Dallas, TX; Aunt Della May Harr of Newton, KS; Grandsons: Cory Harris and Brian Kassin. And great grandchildren: Reilee and Connor Harris She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gus Claus and sister Barbarajean Thornton, and son in law Billy Harris.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverend Gary Brooks and Pastor Steve Julius presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to Caring Hands Humane Society in care of Petersen Funeral Home Newton, Kansas.

    My Heart fills your loss and I know this is a hard time for her kids and Family and I send my thoughts and Prayer’s to you all.I remember the good things such as Aunt Joan watching us kids when we was little kid’s. Im thankful for the time we spent and Ive never forgotten how sweet and kind you was to me.
