Linda L. Rowland

Linda Rowland, 60, died on Monday, April 28th in Wichita, Kansas.


Linda was born on November 12, 1953 to Verdun and Helen Louise (Hays) Thomas in Newton, Kansas.


Linda married David Rowland on June 21, 1975 in Newton and he survives of the home. She attended Newton Baptist Church’s for 50 years and most recently attended Newton Christian Church.


Linda worked as a LPN at various healthcare centers. Later in life Linda became a homemaker. Linda loved animals and enjoyed broom stick crocheting. Linda was a loving mother and enjoyed raising her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a very sweet, loving and good hearted person who never met a stranger. She also had a great love for her two dogs Sammy and Chewy.


She is survived by her husband; David Rowland; daughter: Jill Rowland-Clanton and husband, Josh and son Daniel Rowland, grandchildren: Kaitlynn and Kolby Clanton; brother: Martin and Beth Thomas and Sisters: Debbie and Gerry VanDerheide and twin sister Lisa Thomas and her partner John. Linda is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and sister in laws Sherry Rowland, Vivkie Moore, Wanda Tilford.


Funeral arrangements have been set for Friday, 10:30 AM, May 2nd at the Newton Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 PM on Thursday, May 1st at Petersen Funeral Home. The family will be present to greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.


A memorial has been set up for Wesley Medical Center Respiratory and MICU education Fund in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
