Loretta E. Maberry 87, died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Kansas Christian Home. She was born September 25, 1926 in Alexander, New York to Fred and Jessie (Austin) Foster. Loretta worked as a cook at various restaurants around Newton. She also worked as a cook at Bethel College for many years. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family. Loretta looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.
She is survived by sons: Ronald Maberry of Newton, Kansas; Larry and Theresa Maberry of Hutchinson, Kansas; daughters: Joyce Alexander of Newton, Kansas and Tammie and Rick Moore of Newton, Kansas; sister Wyona Burrs of Warsaw, New York; she is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Loretta is preceded in death by her parents, sons Jonathan and Lynn Maberry, daughter Catherine Quiring, brothers Gerald, Fred and Kenneth Foster, sister Doris O’Leary
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Petersen Funeral Home with Chaplain Denny Bell presiding. Graveside committal service will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Kansas. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
