Wichita, Ks- Lynda Kay Sheffler-75- Passed away surrounded by her loving family August 19, 2019. Lynda was born November 6, 1943 in Wichita, Ks the daughter of Dale Clyde and Dorothy M. (Roberts) VanBuren. Lynda worked security for Boeing until she retired. On January 24, 1961 Lynda married the love of her life Robert L. Sheffler in Newton, Ks. he survives of the home. Other survivors include a son Brian Scott Sheffler of Wichita, Ks; a daughter Cynthia Ann and husband Joe Cutcliff of Wichita, Ks. a brother Larry VanBuren of Liberal, Ks; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her parents and a brother Steve VanBuren.

Visitation will be Friday, August 23, 2019 from 4-8pm with family present from 4-6pm at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, Ks. A chapel service will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10am also at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, Ks. with burial at a later date. Memorials may be made to Kansas Humane Society or St. Jude in care of the Funeral Home. www.petersenfuneralhome.com

  2. I worked with Lynda on the Department, what I found was a down to earth and a great sense of humor. Lynda always had a smile.

  3. So sorry for your loss. We pray for peace for your family. Roy has fond memories of Lynda kidding him and giving him a hard time. He speaks very highly of her. We are out of state but are there in our hearts. Love to you all.
