Margorie L. "Marge" Roberson 79, died Thursday, November 30, 2023 at NMC Health in Newton. She was born April 19, 1944 in Stafford, Kansas to Arthur and Marjorie (Buck) Roberson. She was married to Thomas M Roberson on January 6, 1967 in Great Bend, Kansas and he survives of the home.
She attended Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton.
Marge was co-owner of the former Roberson Liquor store in Newton. She faithfully served the Newton and Harvey County communities' as both a Newton City Commissioner where she served a term as Mayor and also 2 terms as a Harvey County Commissioner. In addition to her elected positions Marge served the community on the Newton Area Chamber of Commerce, Harvey County Economic Development Board and a former board member of the Heath Ministries Clinic in Newton among many other boards and charities in the area. She also was past president of the Kansas Retail Liquor Dealers Association where she served for 8 years.
Marge was a loyal friend with quick wit and fast smile, but her greatest joy was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Thomas "Tom" Roberson of the home; sons Bradley (Barbara) Roberson and Brett (Trina) Roberson; brother Clayton Buck; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Carolyn Marks
A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 5th at Petersen Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Private family interment will take place.
Memorial donation may be made to Caring Hands Humane Society and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
