Mark Bennett Hutton, 67, attorney and co-founder of Hutton & Hutton law firm passed away in Wichita, KS, on December 29, 2021.
Mark and his twin, Andy, was born on December 31,1953, to John and Prue (Bennett) Hutton in Newton, KS. After graduating from Washburn Law School (B.B.A., 1976; J.D., 1979), he practiced law in Wichita for over 40 years. He was recognized by Super Lawyers® as one of the Top 100 attorneys in Missouri & Kansas nine times between 2005 and 2021. Mark served on the boards of several organizations and businesses, including Community Bank of Wichita for 16 years, member of the Board of Directors of Title Midwest, Inc., for 14 years and was appointed by President George W. Bush to the President’s Advisory Committee of the Arts of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., 2004 to 2009. In addition to Mark’s legal career, he was a business partner with movie theater icon, Bill Warren, for over 25 years until their successful chain of theaters sold in 2017.
Mark is survived by his wife, Susan (Dody) of Wichita, KS; sons, Thomas of Miami, FL and William (fiancée, Molly Bailey) of New York City; daughters, Francesca of Nashville, TN and Isabella of New York City; father, John of Wichita, KS; brother, Andrew (Paula) of Wichita, KS; sister, Prudy (Dan) Fitzpatrick of Fresno, CA; mother-in-law, Betty Dody; brother-in-law, Terry (Deb Scott) Dody of Manhattan, KS; sister-in-law, Judy (Dean Long) Carnes of Olathe, KS; former sister-in-law, Ginger Dody of Emporia, KS, and numerous nieces, nephews, dear friends and colleagues. Mark was predeceased by his mother, Prue Hutton, and brother, Thomas.
The Hutton family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support during this difficult time. Private graveside service for family will be held.

Always enjoyed ordering teacher manuals and test keys for Mark. He wanted to read these manuals so he could help his kids learn (or so that they didn’t get smarter than him) and prepare them for tests. He was an awesome father. My deepest sympathy.
I am so very sorry and saddened to read of Mark’s passing. We were Newton High School classmates and I remember his high character and good reputation. My prayers are for peace and comfort for his entire family.

Wendy and I are so shocked and saddened by Mark’s passing. We have such good memories of our long years of knowing Mark and Susan in Newton while growing up together. Our prayers go out to the whole Hutton family, supporting with loving thoughts, divine strength and the blessings of wonderful shared life experiences.

Sorry to hear of Mark’s passing. I knew him in high school and he was very feisty. He willbe missed by his family. Prayers for you to have strength.

Francesca, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I know that he was very special to you and that you loved him very much. I lost my dad in 2011 and I still carry his memory in my heart every day, as I know you will with your dad’s. Thinking of you.
