Martin J. Zimmerman, age 64, of Newton, Kansas entered his heavenly home on Sunday, November 28, 2021. Martin was born November 22, 1957; the son of Simon and Audrey (Zodrow) Zimmerman in Newton. He graduated from Newton High School in 1976 and went on to be an Eagle Scout Master for several years.
Martin is survived by his mother, Audrey Zimmerman, brother Sam (Stef) Zimmerman; sister’s Sandy Phenneger, Nancy Hiebert both of Newton, Kansas; and sister Annette (Chuck) Knauss from Hesston, Kansas; daughter Kristy Hermstein (Jeremy Crites); grandson Austin and granddaughter Hannah, as well as many nieces and nephews. Martin is proceeded in death by his father Simon Zimmerman.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, December 6th 2021 with a recitation of the Rosary at 8 p.m. both at Petersen Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. So sorry to hear. My deepest sympathies to the family. I was in scouts with Martin so many years ago. Thoughts and prayers for everyone.
