Mary Lou Abrahams

Mary L. Abrahams 66, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Newton Medical Center.  She was born September 22, 1947 in Newton, Kansas to Don and Mabel (Taylor) Nicodemus.  She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church in Newton and worked part time in the Harvey County Clerks office.  Mary enjoyed scrapbooking, reading and traveling. Music was a very important part of her life.  She greatly looked forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.


Mary is survived by her mother Mabel Nicodemus of Newton, KS; daughters Lisa Barham of Newton, KS and Stacy Reffner of Topeka, KS; sister Debbie Grob of Newton, KS; she also is survived by 5 grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her father Don Nicodemus and sister Bonnie Coyners.


Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday February 25, 2014 at Salem United Methodist Church in Newton, KS with Pastor Nancy Crowl presiding.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.


There will be a private family interment


Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
