Mary Ruth Libhart, 95, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Sandpiper Healthcare in Wichita where she had resided for over four years.
She was born on November 27, 1921 to Joseph and Mary (Miller) Brown in Newton, Kansas. She married William M. Libhart on March 1, 1941 in Newton, Kansas. Mary was a retired secretary to the City Manager of Newton, KS.
A public Visitation is scheduled at Petersen Funeral Home from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5th. The family will be present from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. to greet friends and family. There will not be a funeral service and a family gathering will be scheduled at a later date.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, William “Bill” Libhart; parents, Joseph O. and Mary O. Brown; brothers, Naaman Brown and Jess Brown. Survivors: one sister, Bonnie Scheller of Springfield, IL; son, Martin (Toni) Libhart of Wichita; granddaughters, Jennifer (Chad) Molen of Arvada, CO, and Stephanie (Tim) Goscha of Wichita; Great-grandchildren Hannah Molen, Chandler Molen, and Hayley Goscha; and many nieces and nephews.
