Melissa Mae Morris

Melissa Mae (Siemens) Morris, “Mel”, 43, died January 19, 2025 at her residence in Newton, Kansas. She was born August 23, 1981 in Newton, Kansas to Karl Siemens and Jacquie Oswald. 

On July 30, 2019, she married James Henry Morris in Newton, Kansas, and their family built their life together at their home in Newton. They have one son, Luke Morris.

 Melissa graduated from Hesston High School in 2000 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University. Melissa was Vice President of public relations at ‘Empower Physical Therapy’, and had worked there since 2015.

She is survived by her husband James and her son Luke. Mel has two sisters; Chrissy Stubby and Andrea Baker.

Melissa loved to spend time with her family and most weekends were spent with her sister’s and their families. She had a competitive nature and in her free time, enjoyed volley ball and game night with the family. Her love was attending her son, Luke’s sporting events year round. 

Some of her passions were doing woodworking which she learned from her father, and family trips to Table Rock Lake every summer. Mel loved everything about sea life, oceans, beaches, and any tropical environment. Another love was her enjoyment of crafts and graphic design.

A Celebration of Life will be held February 15, 2025 from 3-5 pm at the Hesston Golf Course’s Fairway Event Center. Family and Friends are invited.
