Mildred Unruh

Mildred L. Unruh, 88, died at Asbury Park, Newton on June 18, 2016.  She was born to Cornelius & Sara (Schroeder) Unruh February 1, 1928.  She graduated at Goessel High School, and she was employed at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 32 years and retired in May of 1980. Mildred was also a member of Telephone Pioneers of America for 32 years. She was a devoted sister to Martha.  She had many friends and neighbors at Goessel and Newton area, whom she kept in touch with in cards and letters.  Mildred is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Elma and Martha. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 5-9 pm with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Petersen Funeral Home at 10am on Friday June 24, 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideon’s, or First Mennonite Caring Fund.
