Nancy Kay Roots

Passed peacefully Feb 25,2025. Born Feb 14, 1953 to Charley and Jessie Roots. She grew up in Langdon KS and later lived in Newton, Ks. 

Nancy had a strong passion caring for others. She devoted her life to nursing and could often be found chatting with residents at the nursing homes where she worked. 

She loved to spoil her niece, nephew and children of cousins. Nancy loved writing, crafting, and doting on her cats. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ron Roots. She is survived by sister-in-law Chari Roots, niece Cindy Vickers (Stephen), and nephew Allen Roots (Kendra). 

Nancy’s wishes were for a Memorial Graveside service at Lone Star Cemetery, Pretty Prairie, KS. It will be held at 1:30 pm on May 3rd, 2025. 

Donations can be made to Humane Society of your choice. 

She will be missed. Nancy, we love you mostest.
