Olive C. Cooper 90, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, August 27, 2019,  at Via Christi Villages on Ridge Road in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born October 4, 1928,  in Rural Delaware County, Oklahoma to Jerry and Alma (Weaver) South.

On July 23, 1950 she married Edward Lee Cooper at the University of Kansas Chapel in Lawrence, Kansas

Olive earned a BA of Art at the University of Kansas and a BA and MA in Education at Wichita State University.

She enjoyed reading and was a lifelong learner. She also spent time tending flower beds, and in her younger years, enjoyed playing bridge.  Olive enjoyed caring for her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Her family would like to acknowledge Good Shepherd Hospice for the care and concern of their wife and mom.

Olive is survived by her husband Lee; daughter Susan Cooper and son Steve Cooper, both of Wichita.  She also is survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.  Olive is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Murry South, and one sister, Lois McVey.

A graveside committal service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019, at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton with Chaplain John Hull presiding.

Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Petersen Funeral Home Newton.
