Laveda Pansy Koehn 83, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Moundridge Manor in Moundridge, Kansas. She was born February 22, 1933 in Halstead, Kansas to Enoch D. and Anna (Smith) Koehn.  Pansy was a lifelong active member of the Eden Church of God in Christ Mennonite rural Burns, Kansas. She was a retired LPN at the former Bethel Hospital and Newton Medical Center.  She also worked for some time at the Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.  Pansy enjoyed yardwork, flowers, gardening and knitting. She also enjoyed the companionship of her dog Duchess.  Pansy lived with her sister Jeralyn who preceded her in death in 2006.  They enjoyed traveling together and each other’s company.  Pansy and Jeralyn both took care of many family members during illness through the years.  Pansy will be remembered for her warm smile, selflessness and the love she easily gave to her family and many friends. 

 

 

She is survived by her brother and sister in law Glen and Norma Koehn of Texline, Texas; sisters Dorothy Jantz of Burns, Kansas and Edna Koehn of Burns, Kansas. Sister in Law Jenette Koehn of Burns, Kansas She is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces who cared for her greatly.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brother and 6 sisters.

 

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Eden Mennonite Church in rural Burns, Kansas. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery.

 

Memorials are suggested to Moundridge Manor or Gospel Tract and Bible Society in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
