Paul Bean passed away April 29th, 2023. He was born in Newton, KS April 15,1938 to Preston Charles (P.C.) Bean and Miriam Katherine Wilkerson Bean. He graduated from Newton High School and later married Carole Aileen Berger of Halstead and were later divorced.
 
He held a variety of jobs, later joining his father P.C. in running Bean Radio and TV in Newton. After his parents passed, he tried running the family farm for a while, but eventually returned to using his exceptional mechanical and troubleshooting skills, fixing electronic components and then branching out into appliance and HVAC work. He then worked for the City of Wichita a number of years as a Building Maintenance Engineer and finally moved to the same position with the Newton School District retiring there 20 years ago. He was also a veteran radio operator of the United States Naval Reserve.
 
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and going to the lake with family and friends and spent winters at Lake Texoma until his health no longer made that possible. He is survived by sons Mick (Mary K) Bean, of rural Sedgwick KS, Dave (Lori) Bean of Newton KS, Matt (Tammy) Bean of Guymon OK, Jason Bean of rural Halstead KS and Chuck (Jennifer) Bean of rural Moundridge KS, 10 grandkids and 12 great grandkids.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Doris VanRossen and infant daughter Susan Bean.
 
A simple celebration of his life will be held at the Newton Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 120 W 5th St, 6 to 8 pm, Friday May 5th.
