Raymond H. (Ray) Voth 85 died Monday, February 10, 2025, at Paramount Health and Rehab in Newton. He was born August 24, 1939, in Newton, Kansas to Herbert J and Martha (Jantzen) Voth.

Ray worked in construction as a homebuilder with Thunander and sons Contracting in Halstead for 30 years. Following his retirement he continued to build homes and keep busy with construction.

He was a 1957 graduate of Newton High School and served his country in the United States Navy as an electrician for 2.5 years.

He had a love of nature and being outdoors and had a lifetime pass to the National Parks. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting in the Flint Hills, Colorado and Especially the Ozarks. He also enjoyed spending time metal detecting and collecting coins. Ray spent time caring for plants, cactus being a favorite plant.

He was a member of the NGMA (National Gold Mining Association).

One of Ray’s greatest joys was his family and he looked forward to spending time with his children and grandson.

He is survived by his son David R. Voth; daughter Julianna Rollins (Darrell Kempker); sisters Elvira Glenn and Evelyn Stabler; grandson Brandon L. Rollins.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Sister and brother-in-law Donna and Jerry Friesen and Brother Eugene Voth.

A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel.
