Ricky Alvin Wilcynski, 65, died January 5, 2022, at his home in Newton, Kansas.
He was born in Columbus, Nebraska, on May 29, 1956, the son of James Wilcynski and Linda Lou Godel. Ricky
lived with Grandparents in Columbus as well as Boys town in Omaha Nebraska.
Ricky joined the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Knox serving as a skilled sharpshooter. He was
soon deployed to Vietnam where he was assigned to the 101st Airborne, flying in helicopters manning an
airborne assault vehicle. Ricky served in the military & was honorably discharged…
Rick and Sandy would have been happily married 46 years come March.
Ricky along with Sandy and son, owned their own restoration shop where they restored, bought and sold cars.
Ricky worked for Boeing in Wichita, re-winging fighter planes until his retirement…
For many years Ricky was a wrestling coach and mentor in Columbus Nebraska before moving to KS where
he coached the kids club in Newton until he could no longer.
Ricky loved people, wrestling, cars and his family.
Their Family also took in Many young men to help raise, adopting many as well.. Ricky is survived by
his wife, Sandy & son Eric as well as his Granddaughter Gracie…
A memorial service date will be announced. They are just needing some time and want to Celebrate his life on his
birthday in May.
