Robert “Bob” Scheffler

Robert (Bob) Lynn Scheffler, 65, of Newton, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his home.

 

Bob was born February 10, 1950 in Newton, Kansas to James and Evelyn (Gatz) Scheffler. He graduated from Newton High School in 1968 and from Southwestern College in 1972. On September 1, 1979, he married Vickie (Granaas) Scheffler. Bob was employed as a cost estimator at Bunting Magnetics. He was a lifelong fan of the Kansas Jayhawks and the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandson.

 

Bob is survived by his wife, Vickie; mother, Evelyn; sons Daniel Scheffler and his wife Tiffany, of Kansas City, and Michael Scheffler of Kansas City; daughter Katherine (Scheffler) Dower and her husband, Bill, of Norman, OK; and grandson, Otto Scheffler, of Kansas City.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, James, and his brother, Ronald.

 

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Petersen’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 26. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27 at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery will immediately follow the service.

Memorial donations can be made to the Caring Hands Humane Society 1400 Southeast 3rd St. Newton, KS 67114.
