Robert L. “Bob” Whitney

Robert L. “Bob” Whitney 92, died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Newton Medical Center.  He was born August 26, 1925 in Wichita, Kansas to Curtis and Velma (McConnell) Whitney.  On November 6, 1949 he married Lois J. Geis at Wichita, Kansas and she preceded him in death on January 11, 2003.  Robert served his country in the United States Navy and was a retired purchasing buyer for aircraft companies.

He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton, Kansas

Bob is survived by his daughter Jana and her husband James Putnam of Hutchinson, Kansas.  He has 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday April 23, 2018 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Ronan presiding.  Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday with the family receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Restlawn Gardens of Memory rural Newton, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Baptist Church or Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
