Robert “Bob” W. Thiesen, 71 died January 31, 2021 at his home. Bob was born in Goessel, Kansas on September 27, 1949, the son of Adolf and Gladys Goossen Thiesen. Robert spent most of his childhood in rural Marion County on his family’s farm. He attended a one-room schoolhouse for elementary school, and graduated from Goessel High School in 1967.
On May 24, 1974, Robert married Donna Hiebert in Maize, Kansas. The two celebrated 46 years of marriage last year. Robert enjoyed target shooting and spending a lot of time with his grandkids. He loved to travel and take short trips.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Thiesen; daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Jeff Stone; grandson’s Garrett of Newton and Tanner Werner of Wichita; Granddaughter Jessica Benewait of Newton.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lowell.
A graveside committal service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday February 6, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton with The Reverend Donna Voteau presiding.
