Ronda Lea Baker

Ronda Lea Baker, 62, of Newton, Kansas, died May 14, 2021 at Newton Medical Center.

She was born in Newton on September 12, 1958, the daughter of Jesse and Mary (Bloomer) Russell.

Following high school, Ronda attended Bob Jones University for a year. At the time of her passing, Ronda worked for Tippin Dental Group in Newton.

On November 24, 1979, Ronda was united in marriage to Anthony “Tony” Baker; they would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary this year.

Ronda enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, traveling, entertaining and serving others.

She was generous, joyful, and full of love and laughter. She is remembered as being warm, welcoming, and genuine – a second mother to many.

Ronda is survived by her parents, Jesse and Mary Russell; loving husband, Tony Baker; son, Zachary (Elaine) Baker; daughters, Gillian (Tyler) Giles, Whitney (Ray “Anthony”) Adams, and Veronica (Tanner) Merritt; grandchildren, Jacob and Benjamin Baker, Caspian, Serenity and Roselynn Adams, Caleb Merritt, and twins, Evelyn and Owen Giles; sisters, Julie (Todd) Koerner, April (Jason) Reynolds and Audry (John) Lee; and many other dear family and friends.

A visitation will be on Wednesday, May 19th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Newton Bible Church in Newton. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, May 20th at 4:00pm at Newton Bible Church with a reception to follow.

  7. Ronda, I remember playing basketball with you in 6th grade. We had alot of fun. You were kind and generous way back then.
    What a legacy you have left in your children and grandchildren!
