Remembering Roosevelt Deno Gamble

Roosevelt Gamble, 86, while surrounded by loved ones, went home to be with the Lord on August 1st, 2024. A family man, dedicated Deacon of Second Missionary Baptist church and owner of Roosevelt's shoe shine, which was featured on the local TV Series "Hatteburg's People". Originally from Arkansas, Roosevelt was member of the Newton community for over 60 years. Roosevelt was known for his warmth, kindness, unforgettable smile and dedication to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Roosevelt is proceeded in death by his wife Ruby Gamble. Parents Jordan and Mary Gamble. Siblings Alma Glover, Floyd Gamble Louise Gaither, Ray Gamble, as well as children Anthony Edwards, Arbey Edwards and Kevin Gamble.

Roosevelt is survived by his siblings Faye Black, Lloyd "Billy" Gamble, Ora London and Rosine Knott. In addition his children Carl L. Edwards and Floyd E. Edwards as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, grand children, great grandchildren and great great grand children.

Roosevelt’s legacy will live on through his family and friends, he will be deeply missed. Visitation will be 9:00a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at Petersen Family Funeral Home, Newton Kansas. Graveside will follow the visitation at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Kansas.

Pallbearers Floyd A. Edwards, Preston Edwards, Elijah Edwards, Luke Edwards, Britton Bayes, Kasen Bayes. Honorary pallbearers; Willie Gamble, Jerry Gamble, Tony Edwards, Carl D. Edwards.
