Rosanne Kay (Froese) Krehbiel, 75, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2020.

 

Rose was born in Hutchinson, KS to Pete and Hilda (Martens) Froese on June 20, 1944. She grew up on a farm outside of Inman, KS, and graduated from Inman High School in 1962. She continued her education at St. Francis Hospital and earned her degree as an x-ray technician. She married James Allen Krehbiel on May 1, 1966 at Hoffnungsau church in Inman.  They made their home on the farm near Inman and together, with the Froese family, they operated a custom harvesting business for several years. After moving to Newton, KS, Jim and Rose had two children, Rustin Scott (1970) and Teri Michelle (1973). Farming was a way of life for Jim and Rose. They started up Krehbiel Custom Harvesting in the late 1970’s as a continuation from the family business.  In addition to running the family business, Rose enjoyed gardening, fishing, spending time at the lake with friends and family, and above all, watching her children and grandchildren grow. She could be found most evenings watching all types of sporting events on TV with Jim, especially the KC Royals, KU Jayhawks and KC Chiefs.

 

She is preceded in death by her mother, Hilda (Martens) Froese, and father, Pete Froese.

 

Rose is survived by her husband, Jim Krehbiel of Newton, KS; her son Rusty (Jackie) Krehbiel and grandchild Avery of Newton, KS; Her daughter Teri Cookson and grandchild Ashley of Howard, KS; 2 brothers, Ken (Judy) Froese of McPherson, KS; Don (Dianne) Froese of Inman, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

 

A gathering of remembrance and visitation will be held from 5-8pm, Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 at Peterson Funeral Home in Newton, KS.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the Hesston Resource Center or New Hope Shelter in Newton in care of the funeral home.
