Rose Marie Kochenower

Rose Marie Kochenower 86, died Friday, January 27, 2017 at Newton Medical Center.  She was born August 21, 1930 in Newton, Kansas to George W. and Mary (Radtke) Kochenower. 

Rose Marie was a surgical nurse at the former Halstead Hospital for nearly 42 year prior to her retirement.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton.  She was an avid KU sports fan and also enjoyed following Royals baseball. She enjoyed traveling extensively including to Alaska and Hawaii. One of her favorite trips she took was to Spain.  She could often be found reading and enjoying good books.  Rose Marie was enjoyed spending time with her family who will miss her very much.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverend Nicholas Voelker presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, January 30^th at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Newton, KS.
