Ruby L. Hinz 95, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton, Kansas.  She was born December 11, 1925 in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma to John and Sarah (Issac) Flaming. On March 18, 1944 she married Milton W. Hinz at Clinton Oklahoma and he preceded her in death.

Ruby had a great faith in the Lord and was a member of the Grace Community Church in Newton.   She was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandma and great grandma.

Ruby enjoyed playing cards and was an avid bridge player. In her earlier years she was an accomplished musician playing trumpet, guitar and piano.  Those that knew and loved Ruby enjoyed her sharp sense of humor and ability to be a prankster.  Many were on the receiving end of one of Ruby’s teasing pranks. She also could be found in the kitchen cooking meals and treats for her friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters Karen (Joe)  Machock and Janice Classen.  She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 1 sister. She is also preceded in death by her son in law Ray Classen.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Grace Community Church with Pastor Will Regier presiding. Burial will precede the memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery Newton. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Monday August 2, 2021 at Petersen Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to Grace Community Church or Camp Forest Springs in support of Jon and Laura Classen, director.
