Samuel D. Fritts

Samuel Dean Fritts, 59, of Newton, Kansas died on December 10, 2020 at his home in Asbury Park, Newton, Kansas.

He was born February 13, 1961, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of Tommie “J” & Iris Nadine (Smith) Fritts (Waltman).

Sam at age of 4 had an illness that required other people to take care of him. He lived at home with his parents until his adult life. He really enjoyed being around family and eating his favorite foods listening to music and watching some television shows. He enjoyed summer camp for the handicap where he had an opportunity to try different things. He enjoyed being outside going on strolls in his wheelchair.  In his adult life he moved to KNI in Topeka for several years & made lots of friends.  He then moved back to Newton & had a home at Rescare & his last 5 years he made a home at Asbury Park where he continued to make friends on his journey.

Sam is survived by his sister, Nadine (Barry) Barber, step-sister, Teri (Jost) Young, step-brothers, Mark Jost, Toto (Leo) Jost, Donald Jost, many nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces.

Sam was preceded in death by his dad, Tommie “J” Fritts, his mother, Iris Nadine (Smith) Waltman, his brother, Tommie “J” Fritts ll, his step-brothers Chris Jost & John Jost.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 16 from 5 to 8 on at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, Ks.  Followed by a small graveside service which we be held at Restlawn Cemetery on Thursday, December 17 at 2 pm with Pastor Mark Hoover presiding.

Memorials may be made to New Spring Church in care of Petersen Funeral Home
