Shelly Maytum, 51, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 06, 2019 at Newton Medical Center.

 

Shelly was born on January 2, 1968 in Marysville, California to Eugene and Geneva (Nutt) Bowen. She was the youngest of 6 children, all of her siblings being protective big brothers.

 

Shelly was a homemaker and a loving, big-hearted mother, grandmother and wife. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, gardening and always made sure that everyone in her family was happy and had everything they needed to lead a successful life.

 

She was a wonderful mother of two children: Lindsey (Tyler) Butler and Logan Maytum and a loving grandmother to her three cherished granddaughters: Alayna, McKenna and Rylee. Shelly was a kind-hearted, strong woman who many looked to for a warm smile and compassion. She made everyone feel welcome in her home and in her life.

 

Shelly is proceeded in death by her parents as well as two brothers, Dana and Steve.

 

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Petersenfamilyfuneralhome.com
